VFW CLK Post 3900 will be awarding Scholarships and VFW JROTC Medals to selected Calumet High School cadets at their award night on May 13th 2026. Calumet High School JROTC instructor LTC Leiter has chosen two cadets to each receive a $500.00 dollar scholarship from the post. Three cadets have been chosen to receive the VFW JROTC Medal for their accomplishments during this past year. The awards will be given out at the CLK gym at 6PM on the 13th of May. Come on out and see the accomplishments of these fine young cadets.
 
 CLK Post 3900 will be cleaning up the stone ship memorial on US41 in Kearsarge on Saturday May 18th starting at 9AM. If you would like to join us bring gloves, rakes and shovels to help make this Memorial look good for the tourist season. The post will also be distributing Buddy Poppies at the Calumet IGA store on May 14th and 15th starting at 9AM. Come and pick up a Poppy to Support Veterans!

In 1968, a friendly challenge to a game of pool was thrown out between VFW members from different parts of Michigan. Now, 56 years later, the VFW Michigan Pool League has attracted hundreds of veterans who compete annually.


State Adjutant shares in-person memory of 1982 DC Vietnam Memorial dedication

VFW Department of Michigan Adjutant & Quartermaster Barry Walter attended the Washington D.C. Vietnam Memorial Dedication on November 13, 1982. Now, 76, Barry recalls being a 35-year-old VFW service officer, witnessing history for his generation of warriors.
